Notice that this text was sent from a typical 10-digit phone number, has a non-USPS link, and an odd shipment number. Settlement amounts are small, between $1–$5, so they seem authentic but are just part of a larger ploy to gather credit card information. A “settlement” amount: Sometimes, USPS text scams allude to a “settlement” payment.Look out for dashes or extra words and numbers, such as “.” Scammers often spoof website URLs, display names, and phone numbers to convince victims that they are interacting with a trusted source. With that evidence, and weeks of corresponding with PayPal, Reed finally got his money back. In his search, he discovered that Google flagged the site as fraudulent. Frustrated, Reed looked up other ways to get in touch with the vendor. The USPS tracking number was for a package that had already been delivered to a different address. But this was just the beginning of an elaborate scam. He thought maybe his supplies would show up after all. As part of their investigation, PayPal reached out to the seller, who finally provided a tracking number. Then, he filed a resolution claim with PayPal. But after weeks without his package, he decided to take matters into his own hands.įirst, Reed tried to contact the seller. Most often it is less than a minute before we hear the music signalling us to begin, but sometimes it can feel like an eternity. When that happens, we can be seen sneaking peeks as we look around to make sure we aren’t the only person frozen in place in a pose! We know we really shouldn’t be doing this true professionals would simply wait as long as it took. But we get antsy, and maybe even start doubting ourselves and we just can’t seem to help it! Once we are told the name of the upcoming dance we are expected to get into our pose and hold it. One of the most challenging parts for all of us at this point in the season is making sure we have our introductions and finishing poses down pat. When we learn a new dance, we typically learn the pattern of the feet first, then the arm movements are added, and finally the beginning and ending poses are inserted. Considering we have many dozens of dances, it can be hard to keep them all straight. Often our opening pose has some version of us leaning slightly one way or the other, hand on the brim of our cowboy hat and eyes cast down. Remember this: Impatience is the most common death. The dance group I belong to, Chinook Country Dancers, is in full-on performance mode for the next few weeks. I’m not sure the exact number of performances there are in total, but right now, I’m counting twenty-five on my calendar. Needless to say, we are at the very final stages of polishing the details of each dance so we can confidently perform. I mean, you may as well find a narrow angle towards the corner, take a sip of your soda and sit back while you're ADS'ed and holding the corner. The reason you hear this is because a team mate figures that you don't have to peek. You have to assess every situation and figure if this peek is worth risking your life for, because there may be both smarter and safer solutions.Īnd this is where the "Don't peek" comes from. Let's say he get nothing from listening for a few seconds, then what does he do? peek it? I'd like to answer that by asking Does he have to peek it? Other ways to gather information does not necessarily expose your life. The most underrated feature at lower ranks! These are just 3 ways to gather information without exposing your life. Depending on time, place and enemies left, he will use cameras or an helpful Echo to get this information, but what if those alternatives are out of the picture? Well, then you still got sound. The difference: If a high rank player sits close to the objective and wants to hold a corner or know what's on the other side, he would often find other ways to do this than to peek it. Whenever you peek you expose the one and only life you get, that round If that question is the only reason to peek, then why should you? You get 1 life per round and every time you expose yourself to an uncleared area, you are risking this one and only life you got. Your vision only provides information from the area that you can see. If you know the map and the area around that corner, then what do you really get from this peek? The whole question boils down to "is there an enemy there, or not?". If you look around a corner (not ADS), you gather a ton of information, but. Your vision provides the quickest and most accurate information. So, is it really the best move to follow our human instinct? So what does it have to do with R6? Well, we are all humans, and when you sit alone in that objective room with your hearth pounding like an engine, it is very tempting to stand up and look. I mean, we build billion dollar telescopes to look at galaxies far far away. We humans are desperately trying to see everything. The mistake: Using your vision to gather information. In the case of macaroni and tomatoes, our favorite pick is green beans. It’s always healthy to add some greens to your meal. They also enhance the meatloaf’s texture, flavor, and moisture. If you want to make the dish healthier, you can add cooked mushrooms, carrots, spinach, zucchini, or celery to the mix. They are filling, nutritious, and great with other dishes. Typically consisting of ground beef, venison, lamb, pork, or poultry, meatloaf is a loaf-shaped dish prepared with sauces and seasonings. However, you might want to try pairing them to create a surreal blend of texture and taste. Macaroni and tomatoes and meatloaf are two fantastic dishes by themselves. Transforming any dish into a complete meal is easy when you have meatloaf. The simple ingredients of this dish that comes in edible bowls perfectly balance the compound flavors of mac and tomatoes. However, you can customize the dish according to your liking. Stuffed peppers typically contain ground turkey or beef, chopped onion, black pepper, garlic powder, cooked brown/white rice, and tomato sauce. You can also make your mac and tomatoes look more presentable with stuffed peppers on the side. They will pack your meal with proteins and deliciousness. "It's as if the unidentified Afghan infiltrators were the big pink elephant in the room that no one wants to talk about." Brown raises concerns that the unidentified Afghans could have been involved in sabotaging the flight internally, and raises concerns about the military's inability to find the helicopter's black box, and then its shifting position, nearly three years after the shoot-down, that there was no black box. On the subject of the seven unidentified Afghans, whose bodies were inexplicably flown to the United States and possibly cremated, the Washington Times quotes Brown as saying, "Something went terribly wrong inside that helicopter, and whatever went wrong was most likely beyond the pilots' control", he says. Brown also claims the military committed a major security breach, by allowing seven unidentified Afghan commandos to board the helicopter just before takeoff, and subsequently attempting to cover up the breach in the final report, and suggesting the possibility of an "inside job" by the Taliban. Pre-suppression fire would have cleared the landing zone and saved the lives of the Americans, Brown argues repeatedly. rules of engagement, which prevented pre-landing suppression fire into the helicopter's designated landing zone, and which, according to Brown, allowed Taliban forces to slip into the area of the landing zone and fire the RPG which destroyed the helicopter. Brown believes that the SEAL team may have been sacrificed, either through extreme gross negligence in the mission-planning or for other reasons, and has stated in interviews that the military is covering up key facts germane to the case, including the identities of seven Afghans who slipped on the helicopter without authority, and the true status of the helicopter's black box, which has been the subject of conflicting reports by the military. The book is written based largely upon a review of the official, non-classified military record of the crash, which was mysteriously leaked to several family members in October 2011, one month after the official military investigation was closed. The Chinook was shot down in the early morning hours of August 6, 2011, at approximately 0239 AM local time, and was the largest single loss of American life in the history of the U.S. The crash, said to have been caused by a Rocket-propelled grenade fired by Taliban forces in the Tangi Valley of Wardak Province, when the helicopter was at approximately 100–150 feet off the ground just before landing, was the largest loss-of-life by U.S. Navy SEALs, 15 of whom were from 2 troop, Gold Squadron at SEAL Team Six, officially the United States Naval Special Warfare Development Group. In the shoot-down, 31 Americans lost their lives, including 17 U.S. It is published by Rowman & Littlefield Publishing Group, through its Imprint, Lyons Press. Speaking of Pyra Magna, the story writing also annoyed me because from the moment she was introduced, Pyra Magna was SUPER self-righteous about how she should be the Prime instead of Optimus and she said that she would try to make Optimus into a better Prime. I barely felt any emotional investment for most of exRID. The story just devolved into bullshit plot on Earth that was just action, action, plot, things happening, with pretty much no room for the characters to stop and breathe and talk and have relationships with each other. Basically, he was set up to have a huge identity crisis (especially since the war is over and leadership of Cybertron fell to Starscream), but any amount of introspection was quickly derailed into PLOT PLOT PLOT OPTIMUS ANNEXES EARTH AND FIGHTS GALVATRON. In Dark Cybertron he had a whole crisis about whether he's Orion or Optimus. He made a very big deal about how he's Orion now, not Optimus. In Death of Optimus Prime, OP literally wished he was dead when he woke up. Earlier on in phase 2 it seemed as if Optimus was genuinely curious about his religious role as a Prime and asked the Camiens for guidance on who he should be as Prime (Windblade, Aileron, the Mistress of Flame). My feelings are also complicated by the fact that I don't like Barber's writing at all (it's like 90% dislike and 10% like) because of how bad he is about prioritizing plot over character emotions and stuff. It was by luck that I managed to avoid some of Excelsus’s more devastating attacks by performing a Zandatsu on one of the Gekkos that are thrown into the field about halfway through the fight. Even though Raiden is still confined to a relatively small area, the vastly greater dimensions of this opponent again proved both disorienting and daunting. There’s a sense of intimacy that accompanies battling the Winds of Destruction that is absent here. Much like the first time I dueled with the screen-hogging mech, the seemingly-open nature of this particular battle caught me unaware and claimed my life a few times. Metal Gear Excelsus and Senator Armstrong were the only other real challenges. The minigun turrets couldn’t survive the defense of World Mashall’s lobby, I ninja-ran to my death while traversing the rooftops of Denver, the cargo-elevator fight knocked me around a bit, and I generally lost a lot more life than I should have when dealing with Mastiffs … at any time. Sure, there were some instances where I had to swallow my pride. All but the final stage was cause for any real concern. Sam was just as delicate if not more so on Normal. He still couldn’t take my life, though - nor could the doppelgangers, nor could Sundowner. One of the few boss fights that requires parries from beginning to end, he whittled down my stock of healing items before I cut him into a hundred tiny slivers. Monsoon marked the first bump in the road of my Hard run. I didn’t find a need for repair paste for a couple of hours, something I’d have found hard to believe when first coming to grips with Revengeance’s fast-paced combat system. The first Bladewolf can be worn down in seconds, and the encounter with Mistral was a breeze (though I should note that it’s just as visually arresting the second time around). The difficulty flatlines once Raiden gets ahold of his new body. (For example, you can parry the immense machine’s stomp attacks!) It’s tough-going, but YouTube, as always, offers a wealth of strategies and insights if you need them. I learned that the surest way to survive the first two parts of the fight is to slice incoming missiles for repair units. The plasma cannon attack is just shy of an instant-kill for Raiden without the extra cyborg upgrades, so be sure to avoid Ray’s wide, deadly … erm … ray. “No sweat,” you reply, but can your confidence withstand a stronger, more durable Metal Gear Ray? I used the majority of 14 continues in the first stage of that boss fight. Those sword upgrades and an expanded move list help a great deal as well, but you’ll need to endure some pain to access the fruits of your lower difficulty labors.īasically, New Game-Plus doesn’t start until you finish the prologue. The plateau still hits really early (even sooner, in fact), but so long as you as you parry often and make the most of both Blade and Ripper modes to reap as many spines as possible, you’ll survive. I found that the pace changed slightly when I upped the scale for a New Game-Plus playthrough. There are some small spikes in the challenge, but if you can tough out that first real obstacle, then I have faith that you’re up to the task of completing the game on Normal. Revengeance’s difficulty plateaus after the duel with the carbon canine on the default setting, which occurs roughly halfway through the second level, or after about an hour of play. Regardless of the mediocre ranking, I felt that post-Bladewolf, I was rarely troubled by the Winds of Destruction or even the monstrous new iteration of Metal Gear that awaited me in the final stage. I could only see one C grade on my entire report card (displayed upon completing the campaign), but all of those As and Bs weren’t enough to earn me more than a pass overall. Sure, I only attained a C ranking for my Normal playthrough, but developer Platinum Games seemed to be quite punitive with its grading scheme. I’ve started quite a few - even came close to finishing the original Devil May Cry - but I never had the resolve or the wits to rise above Normal in anything from Maximo to Bayonetta.ĭespite reading that Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance was beyond brutal from the likes of Kotaku and my Twitter feed, I thought I handled its bombastic brand of butchery with aplomb. I don’t think I’ve ever completed a “Hard” playthrough of any 3D brawler now that I think about it. I put on a brave face for the first mission, but before long, I was up against Butchers as well as Ghost and Blood Rages that broke me and any chance of conquering a greater challenge. When I finished DmC: Devil May Cry a few weeks ago, the first thing I did was dive into a “Son of Sparda” difficulty run, which introduces vastly harder enemy configurations and a reworked damage model. |
